Hi, Can anyone tell me if the old Farmland Enterprise newspapers are available to look at in the Allen County library? Or in the Winchester library? Or where? Gina, yes, I have tried to connect John Chandler to the Henry Chandler family, to no avail so far. He did not take under Henry's will. I have considered that he might be a nephew and came with them to Indiana from Ohio but just cannot find anything supporting that. Incidentally, that family is Mayflower descendants and yes, the grandfather fought in the Revolutionary War. While looking for John I found two of Henry's descendants online through Rootsweb, a Jeanne Avery and Tim Howe. Neither knew about the other but they are in touch now. But neither had any information about John being related to them either. This family moved on to Sauk Centre, Minnesota, after Henry died, for anyone who may be hunting for Henry's family in the future. It is not available here in Randolph County, except for the accual newspaper, but when I went to the Farmland Public Library, where Greg Hinshaw had taken the old papers back to, they told me they didn't have them, and they don't have a microfilm reader either, no room they said. The library is tiny. So unless the Allen County Public Library has a copy of the microfilm, then you will have to borrow them from the State Library.
