As the story goes from our family, when the Hobbick's immigrated to the US, the last name was changed from Von Hobic to Hobbick or it was changed shortly after their entered the US. Does anyone have any information to support this? The earliest information I have is Benjamine F. Hobbick born in Winchester IN Jan 30, 1862, married Emma E. (unknown) from Mills County Iowa who was born Sept 15, 1868. They lived in Nebraska and moved to Colorado in 1920. If anyone has information about the Hobbick family name or knows anything about Benjamine or Emma post or email. Thank you.
