    3. Frances, I just came from the library where in the "Randolph County 1818-1990" book published by Turner, compiled by the Randolph County Historical Society, on page 25, the name of the town that was located at the covered bridge on County Rd. 700 W. in Randolph Co. was "Rockingham". According to the librarian, who is in her 80's and a historian, the town flooded a few times and so they did away with it. She does not know if that is when they moved things to Emmetsville or not. But in 1876, there was a school and a store at Emmetsville. The store was owned by R.W. McCracken, dealer in staples and domestic dry goods, groceries, boots, shoes, hats, caps, hardware, Queensware, and notions. This information was in the "Combined Atlas of Randolph Co. In." Reprint by the Randolph Southern Historical Society", Lynn, Indiana 1874 Atlas. Some of the names of the residents of Emmetsville at that time were, J. Cole, Roberts, Life, McCracken, J. Weise, Young, Jenkins, May, Nicholson, Francher, Myers, Roe, Edwards and Jenkins. A rural Post office in Green Twp., Randolph Co, 13 miles N. W. of Winchester court house and 4 miles West of Ridgeville, it's nearest banking and shipping point on C. St. L.&P & G.R. & L Railways. Mail Tri-Weekly. Emanuel Zimmerman, Postmaster. Hope this information helps since it was mainly the name of the town at the Emmetsville bridge that you were looking for and not just Emmetsville itself. I added the rest in case anyone else was interested.
