    3. Maxine, Good suggestion. Problem is, I don't have any children's births yet...or even names. I'm wondering if it would be safest to assume the earliest recording is the accurate one and that the later date is a transcription error? That's why I'm wondering if the original records are still in existence. Either way, I will keep both dates "available" in my records and will definitely keep your suggestion in mind. Thank you! If you know when first child born untill you get the yr corrected, I would take the year closest to the birth of the first child. Such as; if born 1879 then prob mar 1878. if first b in 1880 then prob 1879.     3. It is never safe to "assume" anything with genealogy. You can verify the marriage date at the courthouse in Winchester. I would recommend checking the marriage "application", and not just the license. The application will contain lots of good info.
