    3. Tim, That was my thoughts exactly. I sent a message to the person who posted it explaining that this sort of message should not be posted to the email list. It definitely does not have anything to do with Genealogy and will not be allowed. For everyone else, A word of warning for anyone who goes to the site, it will try to install software on your computer. I would discard the message and not attempt to view the site. Please do not reply back to the email group about this message, especially without cropping, or it will only put more links to the site in the archives. Sorry to all, it hit the list without me being able to stop it. Please just delete it and be sure to not send things to the email list that are not related to Genealogy or History. 1. [INRANDOL] GenFest 2008 Update
    2. GenFest 2008, June 13th & 14th, is just around the corner and breathing down my neck. This year promises to be another great event and should be attended well. As of this date, we have 30 participants for your genealogical bone-picking pleasure and, included in that, are some vendors with goodies to tickle your fancy. When you register at the door be sure to list the surnames you're researching. Hopefully you will find some interesting and helpful cousins. There will be door prizes galore and signing up will get you in on those drawings. Remember - GenFest is a free event to both the participants and the attendees. Of course we won't pay your food, drink or hotel bills but you can't have everything. :O) On our website, you'll find lists of all the participants, vendors, maps, registrations, info on accommodations, door prizes and surnames being registered ahead. Please visit our website: http://www.munpl.org/images/uploads/henrycountygenfest.htm Unless something new comes up, this will probably be my last update so pass this along to anyone anywhere who might be interested in furthering their research or those wonderful genealogy wannabe's. It's a great way to learn. Look me up - I want to meet all of you. Good luck in your research and have a great time! The birth year is about the right age. I only have word of mouth that he is the father of Edith Pierce. All the census records show Edith Pierce living with John and Ella Gross as a granddaughter. Edith had a brother Jesse who died at age 18, and Ella and Robert Pierce signed the death certificate. So I have this to go on. Robert put Russell, KY on the certificate. 1. Re: [INRANDOL] Lets get all of our Randolph County Relatives Connected!
    2. My Butlers came from Virginia in 1835. The line goes like this: James b.Prince georges Co, James born Dinwiddie Co, Johnathon b. Dinwiddle Co Johnathon married Elizabeth "Betsy" Harris, sister of John Harris both b.Campbell Co. Louisa Fountain Butler, d/o Johnathon and Betsy, married the son of John , William Patrick Harris, so they were first cousins. The Butlers and John Harris and his family made up the wagon train going to OH and IN arriving in 1836. The widowed mother of Betsy and John was Jane Butterworth Harris; she was 72 when they left VA and came to IN to settle. Other family members came too -- two other sons Benjamin Butterworth Harris and William Harris III, and another daughter, Mary Harris Campbell. The Harrises settled in the southwester corner of Randolph Co IN around Modoc. I have counted so far a probable 43 relatives in that train. They stayed in Warren Co OH for awhile and some of them stayed. There was at least two babies born on the way!! Well, it is all extremely exciting and interesting.
