My Jesse Lee Green was born in 1779 in Halifax County, North Carolina. He was married to Sarah Gillum in Randolph County, Indiana. I have one list although not verified that they had 14 children and the last one of the children on the list was a Catherine Green. I am working on the Jesse Green family line. Jesse Lee and Sarah were my gggg grandparents. Any one with any information on Jesse Lee Green or his father Jesse Green I would really appreciate. Hi Michael, I don't know alot about the Millers. I haven't been doing this research long. I know Jacob Miller and Mahala Green had 2 daughters Elmira"Ella" and my ggreatgrandmother Alice "Alla" Miller. The 2 daughter went on to marry brothers James Clarkson French and Jonathan Russell French of Randolph County in 1874 and 1879. I haven't found which Jacob Miller is my family as there are 5 or 6 Jacob Millers. My Jacob died and Mahala married a Rhoades and was in the 1910 census under that name. This is all I know at this time. Betty
Betty, Who was your Jacob Miller and his family? Maybe he is related to my ggreat grandmother Mary Polly Miller and her sister Elizabeth. Elizabeth, Do you have a Mahala Green in your family? She was married to Jacob Miller. She is my gggreatgrandmother who also was from Randolph County. Thanks, Betty
Hi: Elizabeth: I have a Nancy Jane Frazier born Dec 4 1839 in Randolph County, died april 20 1928 married to David Crockett Shockney. The Shockney line crosses my Welch line. She was the daughter of Andrew Frazier & Catherine Green. I also have the hard cover book on the Frazier family THE HERITAGE AND LEGACY OF FRANCIS FRAZIER II - BLACKSMITH published in 1982 that outlines the familiy in Indiana. I could not find an Andrew Frazier in this book nor a Catherine Green/Greene/Grene. This book lists Thomas Frazier born in Scotland and married to Mary who settled in Pennsylvania and then went on to North Carolina. Thomas is believed to have had 2 other brothers but the book does not trace their history far enough for me to know if Andrew might be the son of one of them. What I did find in my files is listed below: 1850 Census - Randolph County, Indiana Andrew Frazier 40, born about 1810, North Carolina Catherene, 36, born about 1814 in KENTUCKY - Later census records show Ohio Elizabeth 14 born 1836 in Indiana James 12 born 1838 in Indiana Nancy Jane born December 4, 1839 Indiana John D. 8 born 1842 Indiana Martha 7 born 1843 Indiana Mary 6 born 1844 Indiana Hannah born 4 born 1846 Indiana Andrew 2 born 1848 Indiana Pat (maybe Patrick) less than 1 born 1850 Indiana The Indiana Marriage records collecction 1800- 1941 listed Andrew Frazier & Catherine Green's marriage as March 10, 1836 in Randolph County, Indiana. On the 1860 census, they are living next to Jesse Shockney in Randolph County. That census also shows additional children Sarah 6 born 1854 Indiana; Anna 2 born 1858 Indiana; Alnor D. born 1858 Indiana. Anna & Alnor are listed as twins. On the 1870 census the family is living in Lorraine, Shelby County, Ohio and had more children: Richard 9 born 1861 Indiana; Thomas 8 born 1862 Indiana; Sarah 7 born 1863 Indiana; Mary 5 born 165 Indiana. There is an Andrew Frazier listed in 1880, age 70, born in North Carolina with palsey - parents born in North Carolina married to Adeline age 34 born 1846 Ohio, living in Jasper, Jasper County, Missouri. I don't think this is the above Andrew because all of the children listed have different birthdates from the above record. There was no other Andrew or Catherine listed in any state - Assumption: both died before 1880 probably in Ohio. I checked all the Ancestry.com family tree files and the Mormon site - FamilySearch.org and could find no record of either of them. It is possible that Andrew's first name was something else such as John Andrew, etc. If so, he might be in the Frazier book but I would need his real first name to check. I could not find any birth records for Catherine Green in Ohio but did find one in Kentucky born about the right time. Her parents were Colonel Elijah H. Green and Sarah Hendrickson. Don't know if any of this will help you. If you have more information about the family, please email me direct at tcw26@cox.net Karen Welch ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <INRANDOL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2008 9:05 PM Subject: Re: [INRANDOL] Jesse Green Family of RCI > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: EZenker > Surnames: Green, Frazier, Jacobs, Brown > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.indiana.counties.randolph/1038.2.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > My ggg-grandmother was Catherine Green, married to Andrew Frazier (born in > North Carolina) who was a farmer in Randolph County, Indiana. "Can anyone tell me if the Indiana marriage records in 1842, have any Information other then names and dates? -- Iris" NO there will not be anything else except for who married them. They didn't start collecting other info on applications for marriage about 20-30 years later. To get more info you will need to contact the Randolph County Clerk's office. That office has marriage, divorce, civil matters, early adoptions, wills and probate on file. Hey that might be another avenue for you on your search, locating a will or probate record could give you a closer death date. Randolph County Clerk's Office, Randolph County Court House, 100 S. Main Street, Winchester, IN 47394. You will need to pay $1 per page/copy for items. Andrea
