Would you happen to have a Elizabeth Ellen Stephens b. 18 Jan 1866 in Redkey, Indiana in your data base? She was married to George C. Phillips. I am in need of her death place and George's death date and place. Tonya, The Keys family bible that is showing on my website will confirm Lydia's birth year and death year. I also believe I have a picture of her tombstone. If you are interested let me know. There is other information of interest there for Keys. Be sure and look through the different links. Actually, the fact that one offers information and gets absolutely no comments about that information from people that have ask is one reason I just quit offering. The drawers and drawers of family genealogy I have are a culmination of many vacations walking cemeteries, hours of correspondence and time at the computer. I have a large amount of information on Keys. Stephens, Cox, etc. that is not on my website. If anyone is interested let me know otherwise I will go back to my normal habit of checking the Randolph board from time to time. (I didn't know there were two townships in the county with the name 'river' in them.) According to my research, Jane was actually 65 years old in 1870, and William, her second husband, was almost 57 when the census was taken. (His birthday was in October, 1813.) The girl Alice living with them was the youngest daughter from Jane's first marriage, to a fellow named Henry Brown, and her last name was actually Brown. P.S. Yes, I finally received the packet from Monisa. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I find a Jane Bradford age 69 born in OHIO with a William Bradford age 56 (could this be a stepson instead of husband?) born in Virginia and Alice L. Bradfor age 22 born in OH (I would think that she would be William's daughter, or granddaughter depending on how old he was when he married himself). And they are in West River township not White River township. http://www.ingenweb.org/inrandolph/County/Westrivermap.html West River would cover areas like Huntsville, Buena Vista, Union Port, Carlo City, and Modoc. Luckly, they are in household #4 of this year and between a bunch of Starbucks, I would think that looking for them in the 1865 Wall map of the county, we should be able to find which corner of the township they lived. That might give a better indication of which cemetery to focus on for a search. Did you ever get any of those two packages from the Museum? Contact Monisa about looking at the map, it will be a whi! le before I get in there to look myself. Looking at the 1880 map that Gina has (see link above) that they were probably in the NE corner of the township, so are very close to Buena Vista. A current map would show the Buena Vista road as 300S, Union Port is at 625W, Buena Vista would be close to 500W. There is a very large cemetery there. The museum has a very nice map for this cemetery. http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?cp=40.119950|-85.077838&style=h&lvl=16&v=1# I don't know if the church that is there now would have kept copies of memebership for there, somewhere else besides the church building, which burnt about 3 years ago. A new church has finally been built. It is a Methodist Church. I have been told that it was origianlly a Friends Meeting, but I don't know for sure. That was some time ago, but I went back and took a good look at the 1850 census that I quoted and find that the indexer probably made a mistake in interpreting the names of some of the family. Warder was probably Warner, Hamison was probably Harrison and Lemona was probably Lemina. I found your Warren in the 1860 census for N.C, Surry county, Mounty Airy, on Ancestry it is image 12 0f 41. Hunt, son of Hugh M. and Maranda Hunt was born in Fleming County, Kentucky, near Hillsboro, on September 20, 1843. He passed from this life February 28, 1924. His age was eighty years, five months and eight days. He came to Randolph County, Indiana, with his parents when a mere lad and settled two miles west of Huntsville. Here he grew to manhood working on the farm and attending the community school of his day. In that unpleasant and memorable conflict between the North and South of our great American Republic-the Civil War-he enlisted in Co. E 35th Reg. Ind. Vol. on December 10, 1861, to serve three years. He was honorably discharged on June 19, 1862, because of an injured knee. He enlisted again in Co. B 7th Reg. Cavalry which was later consolidated into Company D, on August 15, 1863. From this service he was honorably discharged February 18, 1864. With the exceptions of brief stay in the state of Iowa and two brief periods in Indianapolis the remainder of his life was lived in or about Randolph County, and last twelve years in Union City, Darke County, Ohio. On May 12, 1878, he was married to Elvira H. Hunt, daughter of John Wesley Hunt and Rachel B. Andrews Hunt, who has journeyed with him as a faithful companion through all the years. Aside from farming Mr. Hunt had a different times engaged in various lines of activity meeting with creditable success and winning and holding a vast number of loyal friends.
