I am attaching the photo to this for you. I am also attaching Jame's stone (631), it is very hard to read. There is another stone that looks like it says Ferrell on it (632). I took these in the spring of 2005. I am also attaching a picture of the church from the view of the old cemetery. I think the only ways you are going to get her maiden name on paper would be if the family was mentioned in the 1882 Randolph County History Book, a document from the church like a baptism record or a church history (you can contact the church, they are still a very active church, I will make a call this weekend to get the name and phone number for you of the person to ask), most important would be a marriage record in PA, it might be in a church registar instead of county court depending on if it was before or after the revolution, I don't know what kind of government records would of been kept before then. They are listed in the Tucker Book under this cemetery. Mr. Tucker noted pioneers who were buried in each cemetery if they were over a certain age. I have a copy of this list, James Ferrill Oct. 3, 1854 age 72 yrs. Elizabeth Ferrill March 26, 1857 age 73 yrs. In the cemetery reading that I have (I don't know when it was done) Ferrell: James d. In a Veteran's list, I find John G. Ferrel for the Civil War and Noah Ferrel for the Civil War. I did not see Civil War Stones for them but I will look through my pictures again. I took a picture of every stone I could find in the old cemetery that day. The list says if there was a stone for the reading or not, and there was then these two stones. I only saw one soldier stone in going through the pictures again. For a Robert Wilson. Now there is another stone in the same area that I took those other 3 Ferrel's I will include it, I can not read it at all. It could be one of the boys, but????? Gina, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you adjust to your mother's passing. Jean Taylor > I wanted to let everyone know that my mother (a member of our email list), > Mardena Adams (Marty) passed away yesterday afternoon.
Please keep Gina Richardson and her family in your prayers. Her mother, Marty Adams, passed away yesterday afternoon. I knew her mother and she was a very special lady who was also a member of our own genealogy community.
Hello everyone, I wanted to let everyone know that my mother (a member of our email list), Mardena Adams (Marty) passed away yesterday afternoon. I know she had chatted with several members on the lists, (mostly from the Delaware County email list) and enjoyed helping do look ups. She worked for a while at Union Cemetery in Eaton and spent quite a bit of time reorganizing their record books to make it easier for researchers to get information. She was my inspiration and the person that got me started in Genealogy. She so loved to read the emails from our groups and did so up until she was no longer able to sit in front of her computer. If you would please remember my family as we are preparing for her funeral and as we learn to overcome our loss. Below is her obituary that will be posted in the Muncie Newspaper tomorrow and Tuesday. Mardena Elaine (Harmon) Adams, 76, went home to be with the Lord, on August 30, 2008. She was born March 19, 1932 in Eaton, Indiana, to Chester Gail and Geraldine Princeton (Duddleston) Harmon. Mardena attended Eaton High school and married Billy Lee Adams, April 28, 1950. She pastored along side of her husband for over fifty years in the Church of God, Reformation Movement, Anderson, Indiana, They established Pauline Avenue Church of God in August of 1979. She was the Mother of her Church family, where she played the organ, chaired Super Church, and was the Devotional Leader of the Sonshine Ladies Group. She was a member of TOPS Club Inc. She worked at WT Grants, Ball Stores and Union Cemetery in Eaton, Indiana. Most recently she and her husband had Craft Shops located in Metamora, Indiana, the Main Street Flea Market, in Muncie, and the Daleville Flea Market. She taught Country Tolle Painting classes for many years. She enjoyed rummaging, Genealogy, and making quilts for her family members and Church give-a-ways. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Rev. Billy L. Adams; her children, Cindy Elaine Nelson (husband Roy), Muncie, Billy Dean Adams, (wife Lisa), Muncie, Mary Jo Pollard, (husband Harvie), Muncie, Aleesa Ann Mastin, (husband, Jerry), Albany, Jody Mark Adams, Muncie, and Gina Tyler Richardson, (husband Chris), Muncie; her grandchildren, David Nelson, Derek Nelson, Abigail Halstead, Emily Adams, Jason Pollard, Marlee Pollard, Jared Mastin, Joshua Mastin, Maranda Mastin, Amber Adams, Andrew Richardson, Sean Richardson and Christopher Richardson II; five great grandchildren; her mother, Geraldine Harmon, Muncie; her brother, Lowell Harmon (wife Becky), Muncie, her cousin, Jerry Musice, (wife Debbie), Missouri, a special niece, Cheryle Cox, Farmland; a special friend, Carl Miller, Muncie; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Chester Gail Harmon, her sister, Patricia Sue Herbert; her nephew, Christopher Gail Roe; and her granddaughter, Amanda Alfont. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Pauline Avenue Church of God with Rev. David Hershey officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery near Eaton. Author: audreybmorris Surnames: Classification: pension Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.indiana.counties.randolph/3346/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Please excuse the long message. Lots of Randolph Co names here! I have noted the years and why their names appear as best I could. Some names are somewhat illegible in my copy. The following names appear in the Civil War pension application of John M COLLETT. John M COLLETT served with the 100th IN regiment. He was severely wounded at Missionary Ridge. He was born 23 Apr 1842 in Warren Co., OH, to Presley COLLETT (1812-1868) and Permelia LEONARD (1810-1877). On 31 Mar 1864 in Jay Co., IN, he married Cynthia Ann WHITENACK (1843-1926), a daughter of Isaac WHITENACK (1817-1894) and Mariah Louisa COLLINS (1820-1902). He spent over 30 years battling for pension raises, right up until his death, due to leg and eye injuries. Before the war, he had been a farmer. After, he moved into town and was a grain dealer and a RR agent. He and Cynthia had 11 children (most of the middle names come from the pension application): Ida Elnora, Permelia Louisa, Florence Rebecca, Jasper Ervin, Isaac Newton, Lily May, Charles Presley, William Everett (my line), Joseph Earl, John Leonard, James G. [Gillaspie] Blaine. Six of his seven sons moved to Chicago. John M COLLETT wa! s my gggrandfather. Many of these names have signatures and statements to go with them.
