Hello All, June 21st, 2003 will be the 4th annual get-together of Darke County, OH researchers, formally known as the ListFest. It is free and open to anyone who has an interest in Darke County genealogy and history. Our special guest speaker this year is Randolph County's own Tom Keesling of Indianapolis. Tom, who is a professional in digital photo restoration, grew up in the Lynn area (Keesling, Chenoweth, Heiss, etc.) and will be speaking to us on photo restoration. We are very pleased to have Tom as our guest. ListFest 2003 pages are now online at: http://www.dcoweb.org/listfest/listfest.htm. On the web page you can check the date, place, time, activities, places to stay and places to research during your time in the Darke County area. We have a carry-in luncheon so you will need to bring a covered dish or deli item if you are traveling. (The meal has always been one of the highlights of the day with lots of ooohs and aaahs over some great dishes!) It's now just a little over a month away (June 21, 2003) so mark your calendars and plan to attend! Hope to see YOU there! --Jane Barr Torres (Who was born and raised in Union City, Indiana) Owner of the "darke-oh@indiana.edu" e-mail list Visit Us At: http://www.dcoweb.org and http://php.ucs.indiana.edu/~jetorres/dco.html

They are all listed on the same census page in Stoney Creek Township, in 1840. Jerry Reid married Rebecca Puckett. Does anyone know what happened to Dempsey? I found him on the 1830 and 1840 census but nothing for 1850, I find his son Jerry and his family on the 1860 census onward until his death in 1908. I have: The old Hardshaw or Thornburg Cemetery is located on the Earnest Whitehead Farm in Stoney Creek Twp. three miles Southeast of Windsor. The farm mentioned was named here was the name of a farm in 1940. At any rate, it might be a small cemetery on private property and more difficult to find. I hope this helps. Billy > >

I believe he, his father and mother (Charles and Mary), and his wife Mary Ann Cooley are all buried in Fairview at the cemetery that is on Hwy. 28 between Albany and Ridgeville.
