EDITH HANCOCK TAGGART JOHNSON was born March 15, 1891 either in EDGAR CO, IL or in RANDOLPH CO. IN. I do not know when she died but I believe it was before 1930...I haven't been able to find her in any census under any name, but I am double checking. I found her marriage application. She married HALFORD E. JOHNSON, a Losantville barber, son of George W. Johnson and Eva Tompkin. Again, Any info appreciated.

I don't think she ever lived outside of Randolph Co.
Over the holiday weekend I was in winchester brosing around Fountain Park Cemetery. There is a memorial stone there for the Grand parents of James Whitcomb Riley, the Hoosier Plowboy Poet. Stone says the grandparents are "actually buried in unmarked graves on the family farm near Windsor (Randolph Co., IN) I grew up there and had never heard anything about them! I'm always interested in people who name their children with a middle name of RILEY. RILEY shows up in my husband's branch of the HIATT family in May 1861, when his grandfather was born, probably near Winchester, Randolph County, Indiana. His parents were ), Eli Hodgson Hiatt and Anna Hiatt Hiatt -- and they were 1st cousins. I wonder where the RILEY came from -- in your family and in ours! Do you have a clue!
