I have been attempting to locate information from other counties. Are there forums for other Indiana counties and, if so, how do I find them? Marian
I just wanted to comment on how much I appreciate all that Gina has done with the Randolph County site. She's quite literally worked miracles with it and had dug up information from sources I never knew existed. She's just about driven the life out of her car (which I bought her) chasing down resources, people and places. The site is a complete transformation and I know she has a lot more in store for it. I'm supposed to be editing the site for her but I honestly haven't been able to keep up with her! Thanks, Gina!
Hi, Earl. I talk regularly with a McNees in Farmland, and I would like to exchange some information. Thanks, Nancy Hammer, Cheyenne Wyoming
The three new ones I saw were Thomas Edwards, John B. McNees, and Amanda Boid Ross. Is that the list you are talking about? I loved reading all of them and listed all the names, so that is how I thought there were only three new ones. Maybe I wasn't seeing them all? What are you transcribing them from? Nancy
Was there only three??? I thought there were more, or at least it seemed like there was. Well my answer to that is EVERYONE SEND IN INFORMATION TO SHARE!!!! so I can make bigger updates <G> Then I will recruit Nancy to do the transcribing LOL! Maureen, This may be information that will help you in finding out something more about the McNees: Calvin McNees, b. 1852, d. 1934, seems to have farmed south of Farmland, in Section 20, and that may have been a farm once owned by the Bowers family and perhaps later by Luther Garrett. Calvin was married (Aug 2, 1872 in Randolph co., IN) to Sarah Garrett (b. 1850, d. 1915), daughter of Luther M. Garrett & Anna Barbara (nee Bowers) (1st Kisling) (2nd Garrett). I do not have children listed for this McNees couple, but I wish I did. Sarah died (drown) in an odd trolley accident on Mills Lake. Her granddaughter drown in the same accident. Anna Barbara (known as Anna) was my 2nd gt. grandmother Kisling. She was first married to Jesse Kisling, b. 1804, d. 1838. Earl Kisling, San Pablo, CA

Below is a message which I have just received from a cousin about identity theft. I am attempting to alert as many friends and family as possible and have deleted as many of the forwarding addresses as I can but these few will not delete. This is exactly the kind of fraud we will nail once we get operational, because the perps will have to come into the branches to get the funds. I am looking for information related to a Miss Gussie McNees who lived in Farmland, Indiana in the late 1800s. I believe she is related to my paternal grandmother, Joy(ce) Merrick (born 13 Jul 1900, father was D. Paul Merrick; mother's name unknown), who I'm told was from Lafayette, Indiana. I have a photo of Gussie McNees taken at S.H. Addington photographer in Farmland, Indiana which was in some scrapbooks my grandmother left. Gussie's name is written on the back along with Farmland, Ind, which is why I believe she's from that area. Also another family portrait is of Grandma McNees. If anyone has any information on her and who her descendents may be, I would be very interested in that information. Maureen Hurley

I am searching for information on a Robert F. Timmons who possibly died between 1900 and 1910. He was staying with his son David in 1900. His next of kin would be David and William. All three were born in Ohio. His birthday would be between 1824 and 1828. He was my great great grandfather. If somebody has access to death records I would appreciate any information you could dig up. David E. Mason Toledo, Ohio.
Someone needs to go to the Court House to the land records and check out the land. From begining to present then post the record trail of owner's. Maybe the land was donated for a Cemetery. in the early 1800's. If it was it should have a imformation abt this in a deed. Most Cemeteries wer donated land by a land owner at some pointt or just had a owner's family in it. If you have the address then get a discription of the layout of the address and can begin there going back. The land where the cem was may have had more land added or been removed from the origin of the owner that owned it when it was startdf to be a cemetery. maybe it was never removed and remained in the prop owner's name on down the line to present. At any rate it usualy is GREED for MONEY that causes these unkept cem's to be destroyed. Maxine willma@sprynet.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "William J. I have been unable to send mail to the list since at least January 10, because my ISP began using an Ameritech DSL line and the rootsweb mail server is configured to bounce mail from such ISPs as possible spam. It looks like the postmaster there has finally fixed it so my messages go through. It was very frustrating, though. I know spam is a problem, but I was starting to understand what others who experience "guilt by association" feel like. -- ===================| William J.
