    3. Cook County Birth & Death Records to Go Online Close to 24 million births, marriages and deaths recorded in Cook County, Illinois, (including Chicago) are being digitized with plans to make them available online to researchers by early 2008. According to an article in the /Chicago Tribune/ <http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/northwest/chi-digital07sep07,1,4110734.story>, the documents will be available for free online searching. Once the person is located, the record could then be downloaded and printed for a fee. Certified copies will not be available online, nor will Social Security numbers be made available on the online documents. The records available will include "birth certificates that are at least 75 years old, marriage certificates more than 50 years old, and death certificates more than 20 years old." The records date back to 1871, as the Chicago Fire of October 8, 1871 destroyed all county vital records prior to that date.

Brown, that it says "taken to raise". So, he was certainly not a child of Thomas and Catherine Bryant. So, it certainly appears that William was a Brown. Did William marry in Indiana? You could obtain a copy of his marriage "application", which should list his parents names. Also, have you checked the Jay County court records for anything which may have given guardianship of William to the Bryant's? Answers could well be in those court records. 1. [INRANDOL] FYI Blank Emails
    2. Gina Richardson
    3. Hello everyone, I just wanted to give you all a heads up, When you send email to the Rootsweb Email lists, you need to make sure it is formatted as plain text not html. The Rootsweb server doesn't like html and it will strip your email and it will show up as a blank email. When you are writing an email click on the Format tab and then make sure that the plain text has a check mark beside it. Also please try to remember to crop the old messages and tags if you are replying back to a message from the list so it doesn't fill up the archives and digest emails with a bunch of repeats. Oh and to all the new members, if a post is made on the Randolph Message Board it will appear on the email list also. Any message from the Message Board will have gc-gateway @ rootsweb as the sender. In order to respond back to the person who posted the message you need to go to the board and type your message. The people using the board may not be on the email list and will not see your reply unless you post it back on the board. If you scroll down through any of the emails from the board it will have a link to click that takes you to the board. Hope this helps, Have a great weekend! 3. Trying to send this through for Billy Baker, Union City Times-Gazette, Thursday, December 20, 1945 Winchester News. - The office girls of the Overmyer Mould company were entertained recently with an annual Christmas dinner held at the home of Miss Phyllis MACON. The entertaining rooms were decorated in the holiday fashion and the gifts for the exchange were placed under a large lighted Christmas tree. The tables were decked with evergreen and lighted with candles in crystal holders. Following the business meeting a social hour was enjoyed at which time the gifts were exchanged. The party was also in honor of Miss Eva SNYDER who will leave in the near future. The group presented her with a lovely gift and a beautiful corsage. Invited guests besides the office girls were Anne DWIGGINS and Harriett TURNER. Office girls in attendance were: Marjorie HAISLEY, Pauline HARRELL, Mildred PUCKETT, Lois WELCH, Betty RALLS, Evelyn HAISLEY, Thelma FOUTTS, Gatha SIMMONS, Opha LENKENADORFER, Martha TILLSON, the honored guest, Miss Eva SNYDER and the hostess, Miss MACON.

Now if the census were correct he would have been born in 1871/2 then in 1900 census he was going by Bryant. He married my Grendmother in 1897 with the name Bryant. I have found no adoption or papers to state a name change. I guess if I don't connect to a Brown my family line of Bryant not Brown starts and ends with him. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: burgessjd Surnames: Brown, Rinard, Burgess, Householder, Reynard Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.indiana.counties.randolph/3289.2.1.1.1.1.1.1.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Further research indicates that Sarah was probably a daughter of Henry and Jane (Maple) Brown from Jefferson County, Ohio. The 1860 census shows her living with her mother and stepfather William Bradford in Coshocton County, Ohio. (Henry died in 1854.) By this time her last name is changed to Householder, so she must have married some fellow with that name, probably in Guernsey County, Ohio, about 1859. The 1870 census shows her and her 3-year-old daughter, Anna, living in Randolph County with the family of Edward Wright. She married Zimri Reynard in Randolph County on March 10, 1871. Her last name is incorrectly list as Hinshaw in the online marriage index, but the original record at the county clerk's office shows the last name was really Householder. The question remains as to who was the father of her daughter Anna, as Anna was born before she married Zimri. Anna claimed on her marriage license application in Jay County that her father's name was Thomas Reynard. Is it a ! coincidence that her father and stepfather had the same last name, or did Zimri also use the first name of Thomas? To add to the confusion, Zimri was married to Martha J. Gillum before he married Sarah. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. Gail I had this same problem with AOL. Go to a write screen like you are going to type an email. Then on the tool bar you should see "FORMAT" open that and go down till you see Plain and Rich text. You must switch to Plain text for all emails going to the rootsweb boards. At least this is what I have found.
