    2. Hi All, I believe I have just located two "lost" branches of my Shoemaker family this week. They "went west" in the mid-1800s, but apparently only as far as this county <g>. You have a wonderful website, with lots of helpful info, but none of the links I've tried to lookup volunteers and the webmaster have worked--all my mail has been bounced back. Therefore, could someone with the county histories please check for me on these two families? I found the two ladies in whom I'm interested in the cemetery records, but need verification these are who I think they are. First is Sarah HALFHILL (1805-1892) , wf of Nicholas, buried at Salem Cem and the second is Mary RILEY (1807-1882), wife of Silas J, bur at Putnamville Cem. (Cem record says 1881, death rec index says 1882). I believe these two ladies to be sisters, daughters of George and Rachel HALFHILL SHOEMAKER of Gallia and Scioto Counties OH, formerly of PA. Mary has a daughter mentioned in an OH courtcase, Rachel WOODALL, b 1841. Her other children as given in the cemetery records are Joshua RILEY 1838-1928, Sarah J RILEY 1840-1935, prob Daniel RILEY 1843-1863, James K RILEY 1844-19=871 and John W RILEY 1836-1868. Known children of Sarah are James, Jacob and William HALFHILL. Any information on these families appreciated, and am hopeful there will be a bio in at least one of the family histories. Thanks for any help...Tacy Shoemaker Lewis, Colorado
