My gr,gr,grgrandfather was William Henry Jones when he was 13 {in 1850 }they lived in Jackson Twp.in Putnam Co.I found out his mothers first name was Nancy. He has two sisters Lydia M. and Nancy J. and two brothers James M. and Alfred. Is there anyway you might be able to find the fathers name Linda
According to the book Family Maps of Putnam County, there are 2 Jones who owned land in Jackson Twp. James Jones was issued a land patent for the SESE of section 6 on 1834--09-09 William Jones was issued a land patent on 1831-01-03 for E1/2NE sec 7, the NW of section 7, and on 1831-11-02 W1/2NW of section 8 I'd consider William Henry Jones as the best possibility for researching as a father to William Henry Jones. Do you have access to the 1850 census? That would be a good place to check next. I checked out the census records from 1840 and 1850 and see that Nancy was the head of the household in both. If you want to look at the actual land patents for William Jones in Putnam Cty you can go to http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/PatentSearch/ Connie ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, October 23, 2006 10:38 PM Subject: [INPUTNAM] jones family > My gr,gr,grgrandfather was William Henry Jones when he was 13 {in > 1850 }they > lived in Jackson Twp.in Putnam Co.I found out his mothers first name was > Nancy. He has two > sisters Lydia M. and Nancy J. and two brothers James M. and Alfred.
