    3. Jeff, I am not researching the Peffleys but ran across a couple of them while researching a Priest line in Putnam Co., IN: David Peffley m. Mary Graybill Christina Peffley m. John Tague Judith Tague (1848-1934) was 2nd wife of John Franklin Avritt (1844-1938). Judith & John had no children. John's parents were Elisha A. Averitt (1815-1882) and Frances Catlett Priest (1818-aft. June 1860). There are many variations of how the Averitt surname is spelled, even people within the same line spell it differently. John's daughter Effie (or Effa) from his first marriage spells it Avitt. I think it started out as Averett. Several descendant families of these lines were residents in Putnam County, neighboring Boone and Montgomery Counties, and in the Elkhart County region to the north. I maintain a database focusing on these and related families, and have much of the data on-line, as well as 'raw' data that mentions the families. I am always interested in seeing what others have discovered about these families and increasing the database, which I share freely. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~scismfam/peffley/<http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~scismfam/peffley/> There was a book and supplement on these families created by personal interviews in 1938-1940, I have that online, as well with some revision and updates as they become available, I update it several times a year. I am now working on a consolidation of the books and database, and as that progresses the website will become reorganized to better facilitate a focused research process.
