James died, and Margaret and children moved to Harrison Township, Clay County to live with her parents (William McHaffie and Abigail Ward). You have done everyone a great favor by bringing up the land patent books! I had no idea this resource was even out there. I think I will invest in the Clay and Rush County books. > > Thanks for your help! > > Lori Craighead > > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > > --------------------------------- > Get your own web address for just $1.99/1st yr. 3. Hi Lori, I have found several James Goodwin families throughout IN. But the James Goodwin I am looking for sold land in 1862 to an Etheldred Martin. This land was originally bought by Natheldred Godwin in 1838. You will find this in your book of maps or in the blm records (http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/). I believe these 3 men are somehow related. Do you know when or where your James Goodwin was born? So if you connect to this James Godwin let me know.
