Dear Jim; As I recall in my research, I found that in 1862 the Putnam Co. Boundry was changed. There were changes in the boundrys with Morgan & Hendricks .Therefore you may want to check those two counties for the 1850 census. There used to be a Mill Creek Township in Putnam along that eastern boundry but no longer. I have made a hand drawn map that shows where the first settlers lived in that 3 county confusing area. I took the original Tract books. When I come across it I will email you if I find any of your names. God Bless You, Candy Smothers [email protected] Date:Sun, 24 Jul 2005 12:12:57 -0400From:"James R. Baker, Jr." <[email protected]>To:[email protected]:1850 censusHas anyone else found this? I believe that a portion of the 1850 census, probably in Putnam County, but possibly in Wayne County, is missing. The following people were in Wayne during the 1840's, then Putnam in the 1850's but are not found on the 1850 census anywhere. Susan Connett (Conant) widow born Maryland ca 1793 James and Phebe Baker Sylvester and Hulda Baker Lorenzo and Eliza Baker They were probably related so they may have all been on one page.
