Have you saw anything on the Jones,s  in Putnam Ct. or Parke Ct. The family name on my grandmothers side was Jones. They lived in both Putnam and Parke.What I am trying to fine is my 3rd and so on generation back.I have gone to the court house in Parke Co. trying to find out,but I was yold that there was a fire in the doctors office and there was no help they could give me.Iwas wondering if you knew of anyway I could find out something about the Jones family. Here is a little bit about the Jones I am looking for. My grandmother was Pearl Lucille Jones that married Clarence Lee Cox. Her father was John Henry Jones that married Nancy Jane Marrs. His fathers name was William Henry Jones that married Elizabeth Susan Marrs.I have searched and found William's mother name was Nancy she is listed in the 1850 census in Putnam Co.I can not find out who her husband was.I would love any help you could give me.                                                         Thanks,                                                              Linda                                                   [email protected]

Linda, Nancy Jones' husband MAY have been a James Jones. There was a marriage in Putnam Co., in 1832 between a James Jones and a Nancy Dickson. I believe the Nancy Jones you found in the 1850 census was in Jackson Twp. and in 1840 I found a James Jones' family in Jackson Twp. Both adults were between 20 and 30; there was one boy 5-10 years old, two boys 0-5 and one girl 0-5.
