Where in the world is Deer Creek Cemetery? I spent half the afternoon driving around Warren township, but never found it! I did discover a cemetery that I thought might be it and spent awhile looking at graves, and never found the names I was looking for. When I got home, it turns out the particular cemetery I was at was Old Bethel Methodist. (Oh, how I wish there were signs!) My sympathies, Megan; I've done the same thing, but I was looking for Old Bethel! Deer Creek Cemetery is south of US 40 (National Road) and east of Cloverdale. It's been about six years since I was there, and I can't find my Putnam county map, but as I recall the road is about a mile east of the Cloverdale/Greencastle road. There's a brick home on the north side of US 40 less than a quarter mile east of the turn. The cemetery is about 2 miles south of US 40 on the right. It's on a hill and quite lovely. The old Deer Creek Primitive Baptist Church is on the NW corner of the property. If you go to the court house in Greencastle, you can buy, for a very reasonable price, a county map that has every cemetery, church, covered bridge, hamlet, and road on it.
