Hi, I am looking for wills / estate records / probate records for a Nathan Godwin / Goddin / Godden who removed to IN from NC. I am wondering what is the best way to begin my research. Are there index books?Does IN have a State Archives which houses the original documents or do they still remain in the county courthouses? If in the court houses, how does one go about requesting a copy of something? What kinds of genealogy resources does the library have and is there an online catalog?
