Does anyone on the list have information relative to the history of Carpentersville. It apparently was situated on a strip of land between the road and railroad near the present North Putnam Schools between Bainbridge and Roachdale. My paternal grandmother, Martha Ellen Graham, married David H, Cline who ith his brother, Robert T. Cline had a mercantile business in Carpentersvillle. During the yeas some time between 1850 and 1860 the Joseph H. and Sarah Ellen Graham family moved from Montgomery County to Clay County by way of Carpentersville. I would like to learn the origin of the name and the life span of the town. Your help most appreciated.
