Alexander WILSON ( 1792 - 1860 ) and Sarah LUCAS ( 1797 - 1876 ) were both born in Shelby County, KY. They were married there on March 18, 1813. He served in the War of 1812 in the 1 Regiment Light Dragoons ( Simrall's ) Kentucky Volunteers in Captain William E. Young's Company of Cavalry. Having served in the military myself, I can appreciate the humor that he was paid $6.66 per month, and he was paid for his horse at $12.00 per month for a 30 day month! Both moved to Washington County, IN, sometime between 1818 and 1820, where he was noted as being one of the early distillers of corn whiskey - per the History of Washington County Indiana. George M. HOLSAPPLE, another ancestor, was also noted in the same paragraph as an early distiller. They moved on to Putnam County, IN, sometime between 1825 and 1829. Both are buried at Palestine Baptist Cemetery in Putnam County. I am looking for the elusive parents and siblings of Alexander Wilson. Perhaps someone in one of these county mailing lists has some information that can be of help. Thanks in advance. Richard T. ( Dick ) Kearns Pleasant Hill, CA
