    3. Hello, Putnam County subscribers. I have just joined your mailing list, so forgive me if I ask questions that have been asked here before. I am ignorant and trying to learn. In the past, I have been reluctant to research my COX ancestors, because of the commonness of the name. My few forays into COX records were overwhelming. But I feel I have slighted this branch of my ancestry, so I am wanting to give it a try, again. My problem is that I am unfamiliar with what records are available in your county and where to write or call for them. My g-g-grandmother was Ellen Elizabeth COX (September 4, 1840 - March 4, 1924). She was born in Floyd Township of Putnam County. Ellen Elizabeth COX's parents were Jeremiah M. D. COX and Catharine "Kitty" COX, both born in Kentucky circa 1810. They migrated to Putnam County in the mid-1830's. I found Jeremiah and Kitty COX on the 1840, 1850, and 1860 Census in Putnam County. That is about all I have found on them. Can anyone advise me on how I might find out more about these people? What resources are available to someone living at a distance (I'm in Colorado) ? How would I go about finding out when they died and where they are buried? Thank you for any assistance you can give me. Sharon Butsch Freeland Superior, Colorado
