Hi, I'm looking for anyone who might be able to shed some light on MARY ANN BALDWIN....b. 1 Oct 1854..... She is known to be raised by the family of GEORGE BALDWIN and EDNA ANN MCGOWEN of Boone Co.IN....until the death of George while serving in the Civil War...1863....afterwhich Edna remarried to SANFORD HINTON....in 1866 there were guardianship papers filed stating she was the heir of GEORGE BALDWIN....giving guardianship to SANFORD HINTON.....MARY ANN doesn't show up on the 1860 or 1870 Boone Co census with either family?? She married in 1871...to Wm.Jefferies in Mont. Co.... First question? WHO were her parents?? Was GEORGE BALDWIN??and if so WHO was her Mother?? GEORGE was 1st married to an ELIZA ELLEN STOBAUGH in Putnam Co. Dec. 1854.....could MARY ANN have been their daughter??...... Second question? Does anyone have any information on ELIZA ELLEN STOBAUGH...did she and GEORGE divorce or did she possibly die and he married EDNA ANN MCGOWEN Nov. 1856....Does anyone have any facts on this situation to help me figure it all out?? MARY ANN's obit states she is survived by 2 brothers....JOHN & JAMES BALDWIN.....proven sons of GEORGE AND EDNA ANN ..... Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much, N.J. :-) in MI.
