"Upton" Shaw moved to Putnam county about 1840 and died there in 1875. His wife was Susan Branam. They had eight children, the eldest being Leonard B. Upton resided in Ohio in the 1830s and married Susan (actually Susanah Breneman) in Montgomery county Ohio in 1830. I suspect Upton's full name was Elijah Upton Shaw as Leonard B. had a son by this name. Upton was born in Virgina ca. 1810 and moved to Knox county Ohio with his parents ca 1825.
