I found this in the latest issue of Missing Links (vol. 5, no. 34). "More than 20 years ago, I purchased in Marshall, Texas, an old Singer sewing machine base that had a heavy, granite top on it. I took it with me when I moved 17 miles north to Jefferson, Texas. A few years ago, however, I wanted to use the base for something else and had my husband remove the top. It was a tombstone with a name and dates. I tried to locate the cemetery from which it came by going through Texas death records, looking in nearby Louisiana, and advertising in a genealogy column in the DALLAS (Texas) MORNING NEWS and the SHREVEPORT TIMES, all with no success. I will be happy to make arrangements to give it to the family to whom it belongs. The stone says: E. N. WRIGHT Aug. 11, 1849 - Jan. 27, 1923. TxStarmt@aol.com "
