Jacob Scott I believe there is some confusion on the info above.. William & Martha followed Dr, David F. Moss to Jasper Co. MO, bought land, but eventually returned to Missouri. Pleasant went on to Texas. The sons of Ransom were: William, b. ca. 1841 and David b. ca. 1833...<They weren't sons of Pleasant as mentioned above.> David m. Mary Ann Oliver in Putnam Co. IN.. He died in Springfield, IL. William m. Catherine Boswell in Putnam Co. IN.. They had 4children.. Two married. The daughter m. a Miller.. and the son, James m. his 2nd cousin, Lillie Russell. They lived in Miller Co. MO, near his Aunts <d/o of Ransom>.. Elizabeth and Martha <mentioned below>.. I knew his wife, Lillie very well!! I went to school with some of William's great-grandchildren in Miller Co. MO. The 3 daughters of Ransom were: Martha who m. an Alexander and then a Smith.. She moved to Miller Co. MO <as did her sister, Elizabeth Moss Russell, mentioned below and nephew, James Moss > where her descendants are yet today.. .. Elizabeth m. John W. Russell <my great grandparents> and they are buried in the Freedom Cem. of Maries Co. MO along with most of their 10 children.. <been there many times>.. The 3rd sister was Melinda. She married (1) Wm. Cunningham (2) Talton Engle. She stayed in Putnam Co. IN.. I am in touch with a descendant. BTW.. Ransom, s/o William & Martha Wright Moss died some time between Nov. 1846 and Feb 1847. He sold some land in Nov of 1846, and his estate settlement was in Feb 1847.. He was VERY young.. Cause unknown. His wife, Delilah, remarried to Joseph Wells and had two more daughters, Mary & Lucy Wells. Joseph was much older than Delilah, his 3rd wife, but he lived to be very old.
