Bailey born Jan 18, 1847 in Putnam Co, Ind, son of Henry P. and Susan Landreth Bailey and the grandson of a Revolutionary Soldier who served under Washington and died in Virginia. Henry P was born in VA in 1809 and came with his parents to Ind as a young man, alread a blacksmith. He lived with his mother in Effingham County, Prior to 1839 he returned to Putnam County and married Susan Landreth also a native of Virginia ... someone else has her last name as Landis.
