    3. Hello Listers, I am trying to find "the old KING farm", as my family calls it. I am a descendent of Benjamin KING who married Perminda LEATHERMAN. One of their children is William Shields KING, b.14 Dec, 1845 in Hendricks County. William's daughter, Stella Pearl KING is my great-grandmother. I have a family letter which begins, "The KING family has been well established in Madison Twp., Putnam County, Indiana, since the picturesque days of the first settlers, and from that time to this those who have borne the name have maintained the high standards of citizenship which the older sought to foster." The letter continues to say that Benjamin King was born in Kentucky in 1820. Perminda Leatherman was born in Putnam County, IN, in 1820. They were married in Putnam County and lived on a farm there where their first five children were born. It continues from there, but I am interested in the farm. According to family story, the original log cabin burned down, but one wall was salvaged and built into the frame house that replaced the cabin. I have a photo of "The KING family reunion"(dated around 1906). In it, about 50 people are standing in front of a frame house. My grandmother was a small child in the picture. Her mother, Stella Pearl KING, is definitely recognizable in the photo. I think this house may be the "old KING farm". I want to find it and find out if it's still standing! I also want to get in touch with any KING relatives who may still be in Indiana. Does anyone know about this farm? Are there any old farms in Madison Twp. which fit this description? I would greatly appreciate any help on this matter! I have been trying for many years to find this farm. Lisa Larimore blarimor@pacbell.net
