PEFFLEY-PEFLEY-PEFFLY Families in America I am currently in the process of putting this book page by page through my OCR program in my scanner, then ( I have verified the book is in the public domain) I will add it to my Peffley family association website, http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~scismfam/peffley/ This 270 page book was published in 1938 by May Miller Frost and contains MANY marriages and descendant lists for the turn of the last Century (1800-1900s) in Putnam County as they married into the central Peffley lines.The scanning process is slow and may take several weeks to complete. Be advised that the book is not 100% accurate but is a good indication of who married who in the covered families. Data includes street addresses of those still alive on the publication date. I do have a lot of "supplemental" data from submitters on the internet that brings much of the "missing" data to light. Used in conjunction with the living recollection of the (1936-1938) contributors, and with the added living recollections and research of the current family reseachers, this should give an fairly accurate ( at least 80%) view of the family in the 20th Century. I am continuing (slowly) to get this information together. ( I will be reindexing the database as I go along) although the database hasn't reached a usable stage yet I will still do specific look-ups from the text and scan out any information found. The town of Greencastle seems to be a "central" location for many of these families listed. Abraham Burkett was born Jan 3rd, 1778, died Aug. 16th, 1861. Catherine his wife was born Sept. 13th, 1779, died July 29th, 1866. Both buried at Blakesburg cemetery.
