Has anyone done research in Putnam County, Indiana, especially on the Isaiah Slavens Sr. and Reuben Slavens Sr. families? Wills, probates, guardianships, obituaries, and other records useful in sorting out familial relationships? I've found documentation that my mystery man James Slavens of Hendricks County, Indiana, is the son of Reuben Slavens Sr., and as this goes against the accepted genealogy, I'm especially interested in finding other documentation. But I also don't want to waste time and money looking over material that someone else has already researched; I'd rather look for "new" information that would benefit us all.
