I've "rescued" an old 1845 bible belonging to the JOHNSON-KING Family. I purchased the bible from an antique dealer in Oklahoma but I believe the family lived at one time in Greencastle, IN. Here is what information appears in the bible: A sticker on the front of the bible says "J.B. JOHNSON 96 YEARS OLD 1845". This would mean the sticker was placed there in the early 1940's. The bible was published in New York for the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1845. Entries in the Family Record are as follows: Marriages: John B. JOHNSON and Elizabeth F. KING were married September the 9th A.D. 1847; 1,Oc. P.M. by the Rev. William H. GOODE Births: John B. JOHNSON son of John and Mary JOHNSON was born August the 11th A.D. 1814 Elizabeth F. JOHNSON daughter of William and Margaret KING was born September 6th A.D. 1823 Heber Goode JOHNSON son of J.B. and E.F. JOHNSON was born June the 16th half past 3 O'clock in the morning Sunday A.D. 1850 Baptisms: Heber G. JOHNSON was baptized on the 17th of December A.D. 1848 by the Rev. R. HARGRAVE John William JOHNSON was dedicated to the Lord in baptism September 13th A.D. 1852 by the Rev. W.H. GOODE of M.E.C. Deaths: Elizabeth F. JOHNSON died January the 5th A.D. 1851 7 1/2 O'clock P.M. in peace aged 27 y 3m 30 days John William JOHNSON died September the 13th 1/4 past 4 A.M. aged 1 year 2 months 28 days There appears to be a very faint pencil notation on the back inside cover, all I can make out is the date Feb 24 1852 and what appears to be "Rev." and two other words I can't make out. That is all I can find written in the bible. I'd like to locate relatives interested in having the bible back in the family. I appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thanks, Shelley
