I am looking for information on the BOLIN family of Clay and Putnam counties. My grandmother is Hila BOLIN, (born Jan. 13, 1908--still alive), she had two sisters, Mabel and Myrtle, (1901-1979). Their parents were Samuel J. BOLIN (1878-1949) and Minne I. (STALLCOP) BOLIN, (1880-1931). Both Samuel and Minnie are buried at Croy's Creek Cemetery, Putnam County. I don't know when they married. Samuel's parents were Benjamin and Ellen (ROBERTS) BOLIN, dates of birth and death unknown. Benjamin's father may have been Luther BOLIN, from N. Carolina, no further information. Ellen's father may have been William ROBERTS, but again, I'm not sure and have no further information. Benjamin and Ellen also may have had a daughter, Anna. This branch of the BOLINS went between Putnam and Clay counties. Benjamin BOLIN is said to have been the first white child born in Clay County after it was incorporated, but I have not verified that. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rhonda (STEARLEY) Hebert from Connecticut, daughter of Robert J. STEARLEY of Brazil, and Helen (DELLACCA) Stearley of Perth. If anyone knows them from Brazil High School (Class of 47 and 50), they are doing great.
