Hello, Does anyone know of any Lewallen or Llewellyn Reunions? I was once told that there is one in Indiana somewhere. Thank you, Bruce
I am responding to the Shaw surname is which is my mother's family. Have lots of history on the Shaw's of Cloverdale. Would like to compare information. E-mail me at PK9345@aol.com Becky
Hello, I am interested in corresponding and exchanging information on the Wallace, Allee, Rector, Dobbs and Hurst families. Most resided in Mill Creek, Jefferson, Cloverdale and Marion Twps. from 1820 to current. Here's the list of some of the peripheral families. Alexander, Buis, Dorsett, Hill, McCarty, Sandy, Shaw, Staley, Vermillion I also have a fair amount of information on families in Adams Twp., Morgan Co., IN which is right across the Mill creek from Mill Creek Twp. I'm also researching another branch of my family which is the Rockhill and Orr families. Please contact me if any of these surnames match with your research and you are interesting in corresponding. Thanks. - Adam Walters awalters@inil.com

I'm searching for information on the family of Margaret "Peggy" LOVE b. ca1800 PA....m. Samuel T. BOLDON/BALDWIN.... 28 Jun 1818 Nelson Co.KY....I have found some evidence that her father might be a William LOVE....as he was found to be in Nelson Co. on the Taxlist 1785 and 1787. Margaret and Samuel migrated to Owen Co.IN during the early 1820's and lived there several years during that time period there was a family of John LOVE living close to them in Wayne Twp.....the age would have been a likely canidate for her father..... Another LOVE girl Polly m. Thomas BOLDON/BALDWIN in Nelson Co.KY also 1823. I'm wondering if they are siblings? I know that Thomas and Samuel T are brothers.....after these families lived in Owen Co. Samuel moved to Tipton Co.IN and Thomas to Putnam Co.......this is also where I again found a John LOVE living in 1840 next to a Lyman LOVE....another possible son. If anyone is connected to ANY of these people above and can help me solve the mystery of if they are connected to each other in anyway.....let me hear from you and I will share all family info that I have on these people. Thanks so much, N.J.Skinner White in MI........vwhite0901@aol.com

Hello Janet and all, Thank you. I'm sure it wasn't the warmest day to be tromping around cemeteries and trying to write down inscriptions. I also wanted to point out that both Doe Creek and Salem Cemeteries are posted on-line on the Putnam County website at http://www.rootsweb.com/~inputnam/cemeteries.htm. I checked your list against what has already been posted and found only one additional name on your list that was not on-line. I have no idea what Owen County is doing to include cemetery inscriptions on their website. Janet, if you ever feel the urge to get some fresh air and learn there are a few unnamed cemeteries in Cloverdale Township that I need readings for. Just let me know and I'll tell you approximately where they are located. Hello to all, I am reposting my family names after a long (though involuntary) absence due to computer failure: RIDDLE: Mainly the family of James RIDDLE born 1836 KY, died 2 August 1930 Barnard, Putnam County; married Mary MOORE born 1839 KY, died 1932 Greencastle, Putnam County; children Anna c1868, James William 1871, Solomon 1874, Samuel (Tilden) 1878, John 1879, Bernard & Burton 1881, Charles & Eva 1884, Robert c1886 MYERS: The family of Charles Thomas MYERS born 1834 KY, married Mary Jane EGGERS born 1843 IN; children Adelia, Delilah 1861, Henry Vestal 1862, William James 1865, Jesse 1865, Susan Ida 1870, Sarah Ellen 1873, Lelah 1874, Lilly 1875, Iva 1877, Minnie Ora 1879; and allied families EGGERS and MORPHEW. I descend from these lines via James William RIDDLE and Minnia Ora MYERS. I am also interested in any LAMBETH, HEATH, GARRON lines, as I descend from Moses LAMBETH of NC and have found there are branches of these families in Putnam County via Sarah LAMBETH born 1772 Craven County, NC. She was a sister of Moses and married first Christopher HEATH and then John GARRON. Hi I am new to the list. I am helping a friend search for her grandfather. His name was James Alfred Clearwater. I believe he was born or moved to this county in his early life. I dont know exactly when he was born but would guess around the 1870's. He moved to Arnett, Ellis Co, Ok and married Helen Mabel Doane on March 17, 1913. She was born March 3, 1877. Both are buried in Ellis Co, OK. I know this isnt much to go on but any little bit will help. James died on November 20, 1944. Thank you for your help. Sondra CA

While we are on the subject of the old tombstones, I thought I would add this tidbit on William Henry Woodall who fought in the Civil War. It is fro R. Mason in her book on the Woodalls: "Their 4th child, William Henry Woodall fought in the Civil War and his description doesn't sound like our other Wooodalls- 5'7" light hair blue eyes, fair complexion and beautiful penmanship-especially the beautiful penmanship! WIlliam Henry Woodall enlisted from Greene CO, Indiana in Oct. 1861-this unit was a full company, the 43rd Regt, Co E and they were in heavy battles for the length of the war: Memphis, Fort Pillow, Yazoo Pass, Little Rock, Elkin's Ford, Jenkin's Ferry, Damden, Mark Mills. They lost 200 men when they were attacked by 6000 of Marmaduke's Calvary."

Some of these surnames appear in the Peffley Families in America which has plenty of Putnam/ Montgomery county connections in the late 19th to early 20th Centuries.
