    3. Hi list, My question is about death certificates in Putnam County. I have a copy of the "Record of Deaths in County of Putnam County, IN" of Martin C. Hawley (d. 12 Mar 1926). Were death certificates issued or is the Record of Deaths the only record? If death certificates were issued, do I get a copy from Putnam Co. or Marion Co.? Roxanne Gough-Vargo

    1. Eliza Jane HILL(1834-1894)mar Wm. Martin MORGAN(1833-1917Putnam Co.,IN)
    2. Recently obtained death certificate for Eliza MORGAN which indicates her parents were Elza/Eliza HILL(USA) and Verlinda ARP (Virginia). I do not find any ARPs in early Indiana marriages and wondered if this was an error on the name's spelling. Is anyone familiar with this family? The 1830 Putnam census shows two Hill families in the time frame shortly before Eliza Jane's birth. HILL , Eliza with: (1)M under 5. (1) M under 40, (1) F under 5, (3) F under 10, (1) F under 40 HILL, Thomas with: (1) M under 10, (1) M under 50, (2) F under 10, (1) F under 15, (2) F under 20, (1) F under 40 I wondered if Eliza (the father of Eliza Jane) and Thomas were brothers. I am projecting a birth date for Eliza as being (1830-40= 1790 to 1800 from census time slots) about 1800 as they had oldest children under 10 in 1830. The 1850 census for Posey twpship in Clay Co.,IN shows Dr. Jesse HILL born about 1798 in KY. While Abel S. HILL also in 1850 Clay census appears to have been born in NY (in the transcribe copy) about1809. Does anyone know if Clay Co. HILLs are related to Putnam Co. HILLs? I am also interested in the MORGAN family. Hope to hear from someone. Lani

    1. Richard Wright, Sr. website update
    2. Herbert Arkin
    3. I have just made a major update adding 1,700 persons, 677 direct descendants. This web site encompasses 38,941 individuals and 13,918 families out of a total database of 58,689 relatives. Direct descendants of Richard Wright, Sr. include 26,959. The rest are closely related. Major Surnames include Allen, Cauble Colglazier, Cooley, Gilstrap, Goss, Hazel, Hill, Hinds, Johnson, Marshall, Martin, Monical, Morgan, Moss, Mullenix, Naugle, Parrish, Purlee, Ratts, Voyles, Wingler, Wright and Zink. Most of these families emigrated to Edgar County, Illinois; Putnam & Washington Counties, Indiana; Greene County, Iowa; Kansas and Missouri. The largest update used the 1880 LDS CDROM Census to verify and add Richard Wright, Jr grand and great grandchildren. I have filled in the residence, when the person is found. An easy way to check is to look at the residence date. If it is 1880, The info came from the census. I plan to continue with all Richard Wright, Sr descendants. Other updates include adding descendants of the following among others: 1. Nancy Wright/Richard Gilstrap 2. Richard Cox/Martha Moss 3. James Coleman/Frances Martin 4. John Tash, Sr. 5. Janus Morgan/Mary Davis 6. Andrew Fouts/Rachel Merrill 7. Noah Fouts/Jane Wright 8. Martha Wright/James Davis 9. Asa Wright/Phoebe Martin 10. Peter Martin/Sarah Redding 11. John Perisho/Catherine Zink 18. Burgess Wright 19. Rachel Goss 20. Benjamin Davis/Sarah Gilstrap Also corrected Amos Wright (b1804) birth location & Evans Wright (b1798) birth date I would appreciate any comments, additions and corrections.
