    3. Bill, I have no idea, but I'm always interested in those older ones! In my REEVES data I couldn't find anyone who married a Marjery. She may have been single. I don't live in Indiana so checking out a census is complicated. We could probably get a good picture of her in the 1850 and 1860 Putnam Co., IN Censuses. 1. [INPUTNAM] Nancy Cartmill/Cartmell
    2. Earliene M. Kaelin
    3. I am trying to locate the family of Nancy Cartmill who was enumerated on the Putnam County Census 1840-1850-1860. On the 1840 she is on Pg. 400B Nancy b. 1790-1800 1 male b. 1835-1840, 1 male 1820-1824, 1 male 1825-1830, 1 male 1835-1840 1 female b. 1830-1835 This leads one to think her husband died between 1835-1840. Is there any names simular to Cartmell/Cartmill on the 1830 Census for Putnam?? By 1870 Nancy age 73 b. KY is alone in Parke County, IN. Any information would be help. Thank You Earliene M. 1. [INPUTNAM] GIBSON / McNORTON / FORD
    2. Anybody find a tie-in with these people? Thanks, Robert Leopard I'm going to include all my information on Austin McNORTON. I will try to include all my sources, and indicate them by underlining. Listed as A.G. McNorton in the 1840 census in Monroe Twp., Putnam County, Indiana. There are 3 males under 5 (no names given, but they would be: Joseph, James, and Andrew) 1 male 5-10 (Robert), and 1 female 5-10. Putnam county is south west of Indianapolis. The 1850 census lists him as Austin G. McNorton in Jackson Twp., Putnam County, Indiana. It lists him as being from South Carolina. His wife Sarah is listed as being from Georgia. He is listed as having $1,200 in real estate. The names and ages of the children I used on the family page (below). No female is listed as being between 15-20, so my guess is that one daughter has already moved out. This is important from our family stories of children being "farmed out." (Land records would be nice to have on this, though there may have been no deed recorded, and the real estate might not have belonged to him.....) The 1860 census lists A.J. McNorton in Clarke Twp., Montgomery County, Indiana. Robert, Joseph and James are not listed. He is now married to Mary A. (Morris from Index to Marriage Record Putnam County, 1850-1920 Volume II Letter H to P). They have three new children. A.G. is listed as 45 in the census on september 9, 1850 and 54 in the census on June 1, 1860, probably meaning he was born in June, July, or August. James McNorton is listed next to A.J. in the1860 census. Presumably this would be son James, born abt. 1837. Nancy McNorton, 12 yr old, is listed in the1860 census as living with Robt Braun, 75, farmer, b. VA, Nancy Braun, 70, b. VA, and Benjamin, 35, farmer, b. Ala. in Monroe Twp, Putnam County IN. This is where the family lived 20 years before. There are NO McNortons listed in Montgomery County IN in 1870 census. Have they moved? Died? Descendants of Austin G. McNorton 1 Austin G.
