    3. Jan, I just ordered the land books for both Putnam and Morgan Counties, I sent an email yesterday to you about possibly having you scan and email me copies from Putnam. Since I sent for the books, I won't need the copies. I didn't want you to have to take the time to scan and send since I ordered the books and will have the land plats. Thanks for the offer of sending copies. 3. Hi Jan, Thank you so much - you did not know it but you also sent me the land patent for Barney Russell - he is in section 12 - 2 pieces of ground - directly across from James Poyner - and they both bought land in 1838 - I am sure they knew each other. This Barney Russell is Barnabas C. Russell, b 1777 in NC, married an unknown lady - them married Mary McCloud in 1815, she lived in Putnam County but the were apparently married in NC - This Barnabas C. Russell was the father of my gggrandfather, Barney Russell, b 1805, probably in Clay County, KY as that is where Barnabas C. was living at that time. Barney Russell b 1805 also married an unknown lady in KY and they were the parents of my ggrandfather John W. Russell. He was plain John Russell but may have added the W. to differentiate himself from all the other John Russells. If you get to it one of these days maybe you can locate this Barney Russell b 1805, son of Barnabas C. He also owned land in Putnam County. And thanks again, I truly appreciate it, especially since you had such a hard time getting this to me. I have fought similar computer problems til I was so exasperated that I could have smacked the thing with a baseball bat. (: Shirley

    2. Today I talked with the wife of George Boyd, compiler of these land patents.. He is putting out about one book per week. His wife and in-laws are helping.. Mrs. Boyd told me that there is an online index for each book, so a person can scan the index before ordering a book. Here is the website.. _http://www.arphax.com/surnames/Arphax_Surnames_Putnam_IN.pdf_ (http://www.arphax.com/surnames/Arphax_Surnames_Putnam_IN.pdf) I did order one for Putnam Co. IN.. My best, Ellie Stites Swanger

Then I'll figure out how to get them out of here too. You original 3 let me know if you still didn't get them. Jan who knew there was away around this in OK

    3. Hi Jan, I understand how difficult a virus scanner can make one's life - I know mine does from time to time. I received a map - pg 88 - but can find no Poyner or Love in it. Don't worry about it right now, take your time and then let me know if I am going blind or what? And thank you for trying so hard. Shirley

    3. Okay, after I said I sent those emails I discovered my virus scan had blocked them because I stupidly used the same name for each segment. I've resent them with various subject lines. So if you see something from [email protected] that is your land patent maps and they hve been thorougly scanned for viruses. LOL! Jan who didn't think sending out so few would cause the machine to get so huffy in OK

I have ancestors from this area and one of the properties is still in the family, I was wondering if the map was for just specific surnames or would it help in other ways also. I would love a copy if it will help to know the area geographically ,I hope I made since?? Bye 4 now, Thank You for any help.
