Below is a transcription of another great document I received from a friend in Winamac recently. ___________________________ Source: Road Commissioner, Petition, 24 May 1844, photocopy from Pulaski County Historical Society Record from County Assessor's Office: __________________________ To the honorable, the Board of Commissioners of the County of Pulaski, in the State of Indiana The petition of the undersigned citizens of the said county of Pulaski, respectfully sheweth; that your petitioners labor under great inconvenience for want of relocation of a part of the state road. Known and designated by the names of Fort Wayne and Kankakee state road to commence at the Town of Winamac on the east side of the Tippacanoe River opposite Main Street in said Town. andat or near the old Indian Field thence east to Tilman Hacketts. then parallel with the section line to the east side of Bruces Lake to intersect the County line between the County of Fulton & Pulaski, and there to end They therefore pray this honorable board to appoint proper persons to view far out and relocate the said road.
