According to the 1880 US census Pearl (Helen) Marshel was born in Winamac, Indiana to James Marshel and Harret (Hattie) Graves. James Marshel was born in Kentucky in 1856 and Harret was born in Indiana in 1861. Although I do not have the names of James or Harret's parents I do know that James' parents were born in Kentucky and Harret's parents were born in Virginia.
