Thanks to Cindy for the info on Range and Twps. I am not too knowlegable about the location of my ancestors land, twps and ranges. The transcription below gives a great look into the past and the location of a school in Pulaski Co. The Keys and Stipp families lived in Monroe twp. according to the CENSUS in 1850-70. I am not sure about this exact location. One thing about this document is it lists some registered voters in the district at the time as well as a good discription of what a school building might look like/ cost. On mention of Mr. Stipp that the District build a school house 24 feet square of hewed logs, one story high: and to be covered with joint shingles; to be sealed overhead and a good tile floor - one door and twelve light windows. On mention of Mr. Foss that a tax be assessed and collected from each qualified Voter of this district fifteen cents on every hundred dollars worth of personal property. to be paid in Labour- except John Gardner his to be paid in money.
