JACOB MARCH, of Pulaski, in Indian Creek twp, has been of the last one to answer the summons of the grim messenger whose name is Death and from whom there is no escape. He was born in Union county, Pennsylvania, March 17, 1829, and came with his parents to this county in 1840 and settled near where he died. At all times he was a careful, conscientious farmer wedded to his calling and attended strictly to his own business. He was married February 5, 1854, to Mary Good, who had preceded him to the life beyond. Since that time, he has been married twice, the third wife now being left to mourn his loss. He died Monday, May 23rd and was buried May 25 at the Pulaski cemetery. The funeral sermon was delivered by Rev. Neilson of the Presbyterian church, ! of which he was a member.

Census says born MO but we all know, nativity can change from census to census. Since our guy was in MO in 1860, the first couple children couldn't belong to him but maybe some of the younger ones. Guess I will have to find out who "Kate" is and when they got married. Please let me know if you find anything else. Sharolyn

From Tom Keller - I am a descendant Ernstena (Angelina) Seidel (Hartman), daughter of Ferdinand Siedel and will be happy to exchange some information. Following is a recap: Ernstena (Angelina) Seidel, born February 02, 1846 in Osch, Austria; died June 12, 1884 in Fulton County, Aubbeenaubbee Twp.. She was the daughter of Ferdinand Seidel and Margaret Wolfram. Ferdinand Seidel was the son of David and R. Huller Seidel of Osch, Austria. He married Margaret Wolfram in Osch, Austria and they had three (3) children, Ernestina, Lezzede and Levi. In 1853, Ferdinand and his family migrated to Flatrock, Ohio. In 1858 they came to Indiana & bought a farm east of Monterey. (Bud Freel farm.) They lived in a crude cabin. Margaret died in 1866 and is buried in the 100F cemetery at Monterey. He next married Elizabeth Overmyer on January 10, 1840. In the 1870 census, Ferdinand was listed as 50 years old & a farmer. His household included his wife Elizabeth & children Levi, Louisa, Caroline, William & Henry. After nearly 25 years living near Monterey, he moved his family to Winamac, operated a saloon, sold groceries & built an icehouse on the river. His third wife was Josephine Shaeffer.
