They also have a very good genealogy and history department. I think that may be a good place to start. The St John Cemetery in Cass Township, Pulaski Co, has been transcribed, with a book at the library in Winamac.

I am planning a geneology research trip to the area and wanted to see if anyone could help me before I get there. This is what I know so far: My family lived in Pulaski County in the 1870s until the 1890s. The bought and sold land in the county for about 20 years. They were members of a church in Medaryville, called St. Johns Lutheran Church which I know now has since changed names. I believe they also have a cemetary attached with that church. I am searching for any land records, cemetary plots, vital statistics, etc. that I can find. I believe they also lived in a nearby county, Starke. One of them or others, have listed their birthplace as North Judson. I know I am probably being vague in my information, because I have very little to offer. The only ancestor that I know who of for sure that is buried somewhere there is Anna Helena Grewatz. She was born in 1887 and died a few months later. Where I do not know. The Brose and Beyer names are maiden names of women who married Grewatz men. I would appreciate any help anyone could offer. With so many unknowns, I know the first place I need to stop is the library. But which one? Pulaski county or Starke county or both? How do I find out which cemetary my ancestors are at with so many in the county? Thanks in advance for all your help.
