Reinholt Olds was an older sister to Edward Reinholt (1889-1966) who married Anna Laura Young in 1909. I am having a problem with Edwards mother's name. So far, I have three names for her: Emma Hoesal, Emma Hazel, Emma Meichels. I believe she is the daughter of Elizabeth Hoesal who married John G. Bitterling in 1866. I find Emma in 1860 Census living with Jolley and Catharine and Richard. Elizabeth is no where to be found until 1870 living with Bitterling. Emma is no longer with the Hoesal family by 1870. Marries Ferdinand Reinholt ? Help please! [email protected] Thanks, Carol Nichols

    1. [INPULASK] 1890 Pulaski County enrollment list
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/3h.2ADI/989 Message Board Post: The Indiana Genealogical Society has published a detailed index to the 1890 soldiers enrollment list for Pulaski County. For more information (including a sample page), see http://www.indgensoc.org/shop.html The enrollment lists were the result of an act passed by the Indiana General Assembly. Their purpose was to determine who was eligible for a military pension, by enumerating veterans of all previous wars (or their widows and orphans, if the veteran was deceased) who were living in Indiana counties in 1890. For genealogists, these enrollment lists can help determine an ancestor’s military service, and also function as a partial census substitute, since the Indiana portions of both the 1890 census and the 1890 special census of Union veterans and their widows were destroyed. The Indiana State Archives (http://www.in.gov/icpr/archives/) has the originals of the enrollment lists—these lists contain even more information than what’s included in the indexes, including details of the injuries and diseases the veteran sustained while in service. The enrollment lists have also been microfilmed.

PA. If your husband is connected to this PINKS family, it is possible to test this by Y DNA. There is another distant branch of this PINKS family with an all male line surviving today, so it would just be a matter of persuading one of the PINKS males to be tested. --- Steve Johnston
