July 1844 Ohio) and mother Nancy (b. Aug. 1849 Indiana) and several siblings, including Albert's twin, George! They are living in Monroe Twp. Other siblings include Mattie, Laura, Frank and Edward. John, born 1875, is probably also a sibling, but is listed as head of household in another dwelling. Going back to the 1880, they are in Pulaski Co., but Albert is enumerated as "Allen". Listed are additional siblings, older brother William and older sister Mary. There's also a younger brother, Henry. In an Indiana marriage record that only lists Albert, but is the same date, it gives his father's name as "Lewis" and his mother's name as "Walter" (maiden name?)

My grandfather Peter came from France with his brother Joseph. The Opera House is from the family of Joseph. I guess it is a grand uncle slightly removed..lol Perhaps I will find every family members grave site before I can find the 2 brothers who started it all. I will continue the search. I would enjoy hearing from anyone connected to Vurpillat. One day I will be in Winamac viewing the Opera House, I hope.

I think they may be in a cemetery in Montreal, Canada, Detroit, Michigan, or a Pulaski County Cemetery. He was born Jean Pierre Vurpillat in Vaufrey France. She was born about 1823 in France. They married in 1843, had a daughter 'Esther" in 1846. In 1850 they came to Montreal, Quebec, Canada with Joseph Luc Vurpillat, Peter's brother. I know Joseph enters the USA through Detroit Michigan. My GGrandmother, Mary, was born in Monterey, Pulaski County, Indiana in 1855. In 1860 US Census, I find a family I believe to be them, but sadly Peter is not with them. He may be away in the military. I can find him no where. The Joseph Vurpillat's move in and out of Logansport,Cass Co, Indiana, and rest in Winamac, Pulaski Co, Indiana and maybe Peter & Mary do also. I have found much about The Joseph Vurpillat's, including 15 grave sites in Logansport Indiana, but none for Peter and Mary. If you have any reference m! aterial you can look into for me, I ask you to please check for any Vurpillat information. It has been mispelled in many ways, such as changing the vowels and being Verpellet. All of the variants have been on the branch so far, so please, I beg for anything close. Thanks in advance!
