Walter listed his parents as William and Sarah, source is book H-1, page 30, he was 22. Christena listed her parents as Jacob and Cathern, source is book H-1, page 31, she was 23. In the 1900 census the family was in Indiana, Delaware county, Dist 30, page 19A, and was headed by Walter Prouty, 36, born Sep 1863, married 17 years, cannot make out what he did but he worked in an iron mill, born in Ohio as were both parents. The family included his wife Christenia, 35, Mar 1865, married 17 years, mother of 2 both still living, born in Ind, father in Ohio and mother in Pa, his daughter Mary Elis, 14, Dec 1885, Ind, at school, and his son William, 13, Oct 1886, Ind, at school. In the 1910 census the family was in Minnesota, Hennepin county, Minneapolis Ward 3, Dist 55, page 14B, and was headed by W.E. Prouty, 46, married 25 years, a machinist in a foundry, born in Kansas a! s were both parents. The family included his wife Christina, 47, married 25 years, mother of 2 both still living, born in Ind and both parents in Pa, his daughter Elizabeth, 22, also a machinist in a foundry, born in Ind, and his adopted son Wilber, born in Ill and both parents unknown. Going in August, he stated he "didn't want to tangle with the ticks and mosquitos this time of year by walking back" to the cemetery. And added, "A word of caution!! DO NOT attempt to drive back there in wet weather (as in the springtime) or you can be sure of calling a wrecker to pull you out. The lane is not that great and is at least a half mile long with a turn to the right at the end." Tombstone reading has the following: William was born Jan 2, 1845 and died Nov 3, 1908. Catherine born Feb 11, 1846 no date of death and the words "resting in hope of a glorious Resurrection" I could not find a date of death in the county death records or an obit listing in the papers for Catherine. Also listed at the Cem is the following: Elsie J, Daughter of Wm. & C Rush and wife of J.D. White 10-23-1871 to 4-6-1901 "erected by mother" While looking in the newspaper index I found the following: James D White and Jennie E Rush applied for a marriage liscense in Oct 1897.
