It is my understanding that it stood on the present location of TRW which I think has been there since the 1960's. I suppose it might have gone out of business at some point during the war when lumber was hard to come by and business would probably have been slow. Also I think it was Kessner, not Kassner. So it may not even have been the same family. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. They were a community staple, I have seen many ads for them including in my grandmother's high school yearbook. My great-grandfather's twin brother was committed after he set fire to the lumber yard in 1923 (I think he had been working there at the time). There is also an application listed that shows her parents as Rufus and Alice Kassner. she was b. about 1885 in IN and died After 1930 since she is shown in the 1930 census. The 5-member Draft Board for which Pulaski County has one position for is now vacant. A Draft Board Member is a voluntary non-compensated position. I am a Reserve Force Officer assigned to the Selective Service in Indiana's detachment. Pulaski County needs to fill this vacancy for this important position. If interested in learning more about this please contact me and I'll fill you in on the qualification and duties/responsibilities both in peace time and if the Draft was reinstated. Thank you!
