The 1880 census for Indiana, Pulaski county, Franklin township has a family headed by Phillip Bridegroom, 54, born 1826 in Baden (Germany), farmer, both parents born in Baden. Included were his wife Gertrude, 43, 1837, keeping house, born in Baden, a daughter, Mary A, 21, 1859, Ind, a daughter, July A, 17, 1863, Ind, a daughter, Emeline, 11, 1869, Ind, a daughter, Louesa, 7, 1873, Ind, a son Henry, 4, 1876, Ind and a son John, 2, 1878. Could not find James Prettyman in the same area in 1880. There were a number of people with that name in the US, so if you know where he is from maybe he could be found. Good luck. Don
