Snyder, worked together in Posey County, Indiana in 1899 and were friends for several years. I have a court affidavit in Rufus' name, as he testified in the Civil War pension application of Kimber and about Kimber's failing health. Rufus signed the name to the document. Would you like a copy of it? If so, send me your snail mail address. Also, I am writing a book on Kimber, so I will have something in it about Rufus, when I get it done. In the1900 Federal Census of Posey County, Rufus M. Stinnett was born in December 1843 and had been married for 31 years to Charlotte. He was born in Kentucky and she in Indiana in October 1845. They had five children, but only three were living in 1900. They lived at 703 Mill Street in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Also living with them were Clara, born in April 1878, Louis B. born in October 1881 and widowed daughter, Florence Zimmerman, born in November 1871. All three were born in Indiana.
