William T is a brother to Lycurgus. William Thomas died before 1870 (when Mrs Mary Jones and her children can be found on the census at Stewartsville living next to Lycurgus and Diana), although his estate was not settled until 1872. Mary remarried to William M Ward. She died in Grayville, IL in 1916. The Lycurgus Wells who married Annie Butler is the son of William Thomas Wells and Mary E Jones, b 1866. The White Co Index listing his father as L.J. Wells is incorrect, as Lycurgus did not have a son named for himself.
