Posey County, Indiana Probate Order Book -Volume F- 13 November 1843---21 February 1849 Page 128 Posey Probate Court January Term 1845 Be it known that on the 10th day of January 1845 Administration with the Will accepted of all and singular the goods and chattels, rights, credits, monies and effects which were of Ignatious Levett late of Posey County deceased who died testate is granted to Elizabeth Levett the said Elizabeth Levett having first filed her Bond conditioned according to Law in the sum of four hundred dollars with Presley Cartwright as her security under date of 10th January 1845 said Elizabeth Levett took her oath of office as Administraix as foresaid. Page 284 The Probate Court of Posey County in Vacation March 5th 1846 Be it known that on the 9th day of March 1846 Administration of all or singular goods chattels rights credits monies and effects which were of Jefferson Phillips late of Posey County deceased who died intestate is granted unto Robert Robson. The said Robert Robson having first filed his Bond conditioned according to Law in the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars with George Elliott as his security under date of March 9th, 1846 and on said day took his oath as Administrator as aforesaid. Thomas admin. of James Phillips Dec'd an files his petition declaring said estate to be probably insolvent. Creditors are therefore required to file their claims against the estate for allowances in the said probate court within two months from the date hereof or they will not be untitled to payment, once it is further around that publication be made in the Evansville Journal _____ ______ of this case according to Law. Page 434 The Posey Probate Court May Term 1847 6th Day May 15th Comes G. W. Thomas ___ of the Estate of James Phillips and makes final settlement of his administration on said estate from which it appears by his account current & vouchers filed that there is the sum of $784.48 cents to be distributed among the creditors of said estate. The Court therefore declares said estate insolvent & makes the following distribution of the assets ____ said creditors & which said admin. is ordered to pay & file their receipts. Page 492-top of page Posey Probate Court February Term 1848 15th February 1848 Comes Elizabeth Leavitt guardian of Thomas Thompson Leavitt and come Luciner Nelsen and John Roberts and file their appraisement of said real estate of Thomas T. Leavitt which they appraise at the sum of 110 dollars wherefore it is ordered that the said Elizabeth Leavitt sell said interest in said East part of the North East quartered of Section 28 township four range thirteen West at private sale at not less than its appraised value. Page 492-bottom of page Posey Probate Court February Term 1848 15th February 1848 Come Elizabeth Leavitt with guardian of Thomas Thompson Leavitt and made a report that pursuant to the ____ _______ _____ has sold the land in said ____ mentioned for the _____ of 110 dollars the appraised value thereof to Joseph Cox and has received payment these for which sale is by the court approved of unto confined and Thomas B.
